PostDoc in Gravitational Waves at Vrije Universiteit Brussel

Jan 17, 2024

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the field of gravitational wave physics and high energy physics (HEP). Application deadline: February 10th, 2024.

The research program of the HEP group at the VUB includes string theory, BSM physics, gravitational wave physics, dark matter physics, astro-particle physics and collider physics. The postdoc will be immersed in a very active group working in the area of high energy physics.

The research activity of the postdoc should be focused on gravitational wave physics, involving theoretical aspects and/or data analysis. The gravitational waves group at VUB (A. Mariotti, M. Sakellariadou, A. Sevrin) is part of the Virgo/LIGO collaboration and of the BelGrav network, and it is actively involved in the development of the future observatory Einstein Telescope and its R&D facility ETpathfinder. The group is also part of the iBOF network of excellence “Unlocking the Dark Universe with Gravitational Wave Observations”, a concerted initiative involving the VUB, KULeuven, UGent and UAntwerpen to boost gravitational wave research in Flanders.

The postdoc position is open until filled and the duration of the position is either 2 or 3 years. The appointment starting date will be defined with the selected candidate, but no later than fall 2024.

The application should contain a CV, the list of publications and a research statement (max 2 pages).
The application documents should be sent by email to Alberto.Mariotti(at)vub.be and Alexandre.Sevrin(at)vub.be clearly mentioning in the subject line “GW PostDoc”.
The applicant should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent by email to the same addresses.
